Teresa Y. Hillery, Vice President and Senior Commercial Underwriter, serves an integral role with Fidelity National Title’s National Commercial Services, Major Accounts Division.
Teresa brings a wealth of knowledge and talents to her current position. She began her career as a civil litigation attorney in a mid-size firm in Downtown Los Angeles. In 2010, Teresa made the jump to real estate and joined Fidelity National Title Group, the nation’s largest group of title companies and title insurance underwriters, where she protected the legal rights of the company and its insureds in trial and appellate courts throughout Southern California. After much success, Teresa was given the opportunity to transition into her current role. As a senior commercial underwriter, Teresa collaborates with real estate professionals to close complex commercial real estate transactions on a local and national level.
Teresa is affiliated with several notable organizations. She serves as Vice Chair of Communications for the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA); is an Editor of the LACBA Real Property Section Newsletter; and is a Planning Committee Member of the Benjamin S. Crocker Commercial Real Estate Symposium, a legal education program designed for professionals in the real estate industry. Additionally, Teresa is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and a member of the American Land Title Association (ALTA).
When not at the office or participating in industry events, Teresa enjoys international travel and volunteering with various organizations to help address homelessness and poverty issues. Teresa obtained her BA in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento and holds a degree of Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
